The Role: Underwriter

As an Underwriter, you’ll be at the heart of our business—picking up qualified leads, identifying customer needs, and sourcing the right products from our extensive lender panel. You’ll build strong relationships with brokers and introducers, guiding each case from illustration to application with accuracy and care.

What you’ll do:

• Establish and maintain professional, positive relationships with brokers and introducers.

• Maximise every interaction to increase the quality and volume of new business.

• Work to targets on leads and applications, always focused on delivering positive outcomes.

• Maintain expert product and criteria knowledge across key sectors.

• Take ownership of your pipeline, ensuring every case is handled efficiently and accurately.

• Liaise with the processing team to ensure seamless handovers and resolve queries.

• Uphold the highest standards of compliance, data governance, and regulatory awareness.

• Be a role model for Crystal’s values and contribute to a supportive, high-performing team.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in specialist finance (Buy to Let, Bridging, or Commercial) is advantageous.

• Understanding of property portfolio management and the intermediary market is a plus.

• Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and over the phone.

• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and handle challenging conversations.

• Organisational skills, initiative, and a problem-solving mindset.

• Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain high standards of accuracy.

• CeMap or equivalent qualification is advantageous, but not essential.
